Yasemin Erkut has been serving as the Head of Public Policy at Amazon Web Services since 2021.
Erkut completed her high school education at Red Cross Nordic United World College in Norway on a Norwegian Royal scholarship. She attended Mount Holyoke College in the United States on scholarship, graduating with a bachelor’s degree double-majoring in International Relations and Economics. In 2002, she became the first Turkish citizen to serve in the Democratic Leadership Office in the US Congress. She also completed her International Trade education at American University. She was selected for the Women on Board Association program in 2022-2023.
Her career in public diplomacy and corporate communications began with a senior advisory position at the US Embassy in Ankara. She worked for nine years in developing bilateral trade relations, increasing mutual investments, and public relations. Her senior executive experience in international companies includes regional management positions covering Azerbaijan, Greece, and Turkey at Herbalife International, Corporate Affairs Director at Mey|Diageo, and Deputy General Manager responsible for Healthcare Policy at MSD.
Yasemin Erkut has served as a company representative in leading business platforms including YASED, TÜSİAD, and TOBB, and is a founding member and Vice President of the Public Communications and Corporate Relations Management Association.
