Falım Celebrates 10 Years of Mastic Tree Development in Türkiye

Falım, Türkiye’s most popular chewing gum and our local jewel brand, has partnered with Tohum (Seed) Association, İzmir Development Agency, Ministry of Environment and Gülbahçe Women Entrepreneurs Cooperative this year to plant 500 mastic trees in the region of Cesme, İzmir, a land that was destroyed in a forest fire back in 2022. İhsan Karagoz, Managing Director of Mondelez Türkiye and Export Markets, says that “As Mondelez Türkiye and Falım, we are very glad to be part of the sustainability journey by staying committed to contribute to the increase of mastic production in the region. Mastic is our local jewel indeed!” With the help of local NGO’s and other authorities, Falım’s continuous support to the development of mastic tress in the region includes the construction of forestation area, creation of a clone project for protecting the genetic diversities of the mastic tree, and training sessions on the plantation and cultivation of the trees.
